Photographing Abandoned Pianos Left to Rot
As you may or may not know I’m a great fan of photographing pianos that have been left behind in the abandoned buildings I visit. It’s amazing to imagine the music that would have once played in these decaying places. Pianos are so beautiful – I love their shape and how they are crafted. When I want or need to unwind I always listen to piano music, it’s so relaxing and when I know there is a piano in the building I’m shooting, it’s the first thing I run off to. It’s the most interesting musical instrument, to me.
The pianos in this post have been shot throughout Europe in different types of buildings. I’ve visited villa’s, castles, hotels, small houses and a farm to shoot these. Every time I plan a new photography trip the places with pianos in them get the highest priority on the list.
Below I have a collection of photos that I’ve shot in the past years.

I try to research that and if information is available I share it with the photo on Facebook and Instagram. Make sure to follow me 😉
